The south-facing Great Window of the Grote Kerk, the Great Church in Alkmaar, is one of the largest church windows in Europe. The unveiling of Fiona Tan’s artwork for the Great Window on 6 October 2023 coincides with the 460th jubilee celebrations of the Alkmaar Onzet: marking the liberation of Alkmaar from the Spanish in 1573, a turning point in the Eighty Years’ War.
