Foreword by Suzanne Cotter and Andrew Nairne; with an essay by Mark Godfrey.

This book marks the first major solo exhibition by acclaimed international artist Fiona Tan. Born in Indonesia in 1966 and now living in Amsterdam, her work has been included in exhibitions around the world. Using film as her medium, Tan creates poetic and thoughtful installations, which address themes of identity, memory and the perception of cultural difference. Her acclaimed work Countenance, was one of the highlights of the last documenta in Kassel in 2002. This book is produced alongside the solo exhibition at Modern Art Oxford and includes a biography.
